PTT Picks: Renaissance Vendome
The Renaissance Vendome is where we stayed when we first visited Paris to find a flat. And over Thanksgiving 2006, it became a saving grace for one of our guests who was allergic to our cat Dennis. Sure, it's a Marriott (which means points). But this mid-to-high priced hotel ($300-$400)) is conveniently located in the first arrondissement - just a few minutes from the fabulous shopping along Rue St.-Honoré and most other tourist destinations like the Louvre. With modern decor, fitness center/spa and well appointed rooms, the Vendome is suited for finicky gays. One note of caution: beware of the lounge. It's small. It's smoky. And for some unknown reason, sometimes they shove a lounge singer in the corner. With seating for barely 10, Muzak would do.
